These books encourage a child to read because his or her name is in the book. One of the first things a child is encouraged to do is to write his or her own name. When your child sees his/her name, it will inspire him/her to read on, to find out more. In each book, the story line has the child doing something positive, something good, being a great friend and having fun. Personalized books have a keepsake value. It's not unusual for a young adult to still have their book that was given to them years ago as a child. It's seen as something personal and special because it is 'their' book. As a bonus, the aunt, uncle, or grandmother who gives a personalized book, is always remembered because their name is printed as the gift giver. This becomes somewhat of a legacy because when your child becomes a parent, he/she can share this keepsake with their own child. In essence, it's a gift that gains in value for years to come.
